ส่งคืนโบราณวัตถุ “พัลไมรา” รอดเงื้อมือไอเอส-กลับสู่ซีเรียอีกครั้ง
ส่งคืนโบราณวัตถุ “พัลไมรา” – วันที่ 23 ม.ค. ซินหัว รายงานว่า พิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติเลบานอน จัดพิธีส่งคืนโบราณวัตถุชุดหนึ่ง จำนวน 5 รายการแก่ ประเทศซีเรีย โดยโบราณวัตถุดังกล่าวมีถิ่นฐานเดิมอยู่ใน “พัลไมรา” เมืองโบราณที่เผชิญภัยสงคราม
นายมูฮัมหมัด มอร์ตาดา รัฐมนตรีกระทรวงวัฒนธรรมเลบานอน และนายอาลี อับเดล คาริม อัล อาลี เอกอัครราชทูตซีเรียประจำเลบานอน และอธิบดีหน่วยงานพิพิธภัณฑ์และโบราณวัตถุของซีเรีย เข้าร่วมพิธีส่งคืนซึ่งจัดขึ้นที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตซีเรียประจำเลบานอน เมื่อวันที่ 20 ม.ค.ที่ผ่านมา

ทั้งนี้ เมืองพัลไมรา ซึ่งเป็นแหล่งมรดกโลกขององค์การการศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ และวัฒนธรรมแห่งสหประชาชาติหรือยูเนสโก (UNESCO) มีซากเมืองขนาดใหญ่ที่เคยเป็นศูนย์กลางวัฒนธรรมแห่งสำคัญที่สุดในยุคโบราณ
แต่ถูกกองกำลังรัฐอิสลาม (ไอเอส) โจมตี ยึดครอง และสร้างความเสียหายต่อโบราณสถาน รวมทั้งโบราณวัตถุจำนวนมาก ซ้ำร้ายยังเข่นฆ่าผู้คนและชาวเมืองพัลไมราต้องทิ้งบ้านเกิดหนีตาย
