คูเวตตื่นเต้น “พายุลูกเห็บ” ตกกระหน่ำในรอบ 15 ปี ชี้ภาวะโลกร้อนทำป่วน
คูเวตตื่นเต้น “พายุลูกเห็บ” – เอเอฟพี รายงานวันที่ 29 ธ.ค. ถึงกระแสตื่นเต้นใน ประเทศคูเวต หลังพายุ ลูกเห็บ ตกกระหน่ำในเขตอัมม์ อัล-ไฮมาน ราว 50 กิโลเมตรทางใต้ของกรุงคูเวตซิตี ด้าน นายมูฮัมหมัด การัม อดีตผู้อำนวยการกรมอุตนิยมวิทยา เปิดเผยว่าเป็นครั้งแรกในรอบกว่า 15 ปีที่มีลูกเห็บตกในประเทศ
และว่าพายุลูกเห็บที่ตกเมื่อวันอังคารที่ 27 ธ.ค.ที่ผ่านมา ทับถมสูงกว่า 63 มิลลิเมตร และส่งผลให้ถนนหนทางขาวโพลนเป็นบริเวณกว้าง นอกจากนี้นายการัมยังวิเคราะห์ว่าปรากฏการณ์ดังกล่าวเกิดขึ้นเพราะการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ
ทั้งนี้ คูเวตเป็นหนึ่งในประเทศที่มีอากาศร้อนที่สุดบนโลก อุณหภูมิสูงสุดที่เคยบันทึกไว้สูงถึง 54 องศาเซลเซียส ในช่วงฤดูร้อนปี 2559 ขณะที่สำนักงานสิ่งแวดล้อมสาธารณะของคูเวตเตือนว่าในปี 2614-2643 บางพื้นที่ของประเทศอาจมีอุณหภูมิสูงขึ้น 4.5 องศาเซลเซียสจากอุณหภูมิเฉลี่ย
