รายงานระบุว่าตำรวจในอำเภอเฮ่อหลานได้รับแจ้งเบาะแสว่าคนบางกลุ่มวางแผนซื้อขายเหรียญโบราณในอำเภอถงซินเมื่อเดือนพ.ค.ที่ผ่านมา และสืบสวนจนพบว่าเหรียญโบราณเหล่านี้ถูกขุดจากเขตอนุรักษ์ธรรมชาติภูเขาเฮ่อหลาน
ตำรวจระบุอีกว่าสามารถจับกุมผู้ต้องสงสัย 3 คนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการซื้อขายเหรียญโบราณในที่เกิดเหตุ พร้อมยึดเหรียญโบราณสมัยราชวงศ์ซ่งมากกว่า 300 กิโลกรัม คิดเป็นมูลค่ากว่า 500,000 หยวน (หรือราว 2.44 ล้านบาท) นอกจากนี้เจ้าหน้าที่ยังขยายผลจนนำสู่การจับกุมผู้ต้องสงสัยทั้งหมด 7 คน และปัจจุบันกำลังเร่งดำเนินการสอบสวนเพิ่มเติม
