สมาชิกสภาท้องถิ่นยูเครน – สำนักข่าว อานาโดลู และ เดอะซัน รายงานว่า ทางการแคว้นซาการ์ปัจจา ทางตะวันตกของยูเครน กำลังเร่งสอบสวนหลังเกิดเหตุช็อกในที่ประชุมสภาท้องถิ่นหลังจาก นายเซอร์เก บาตริน สมาชิกสภาท้องถิ่นวัย 54 ปี จุดชนวน วัตถุระเบิด 3 ลูกระหว่างร่วมการประชุมในที่ทำการสภาของหมู่บ้านเกเรตส์คีฟสกา เขตมูคาเชโว
ด้านกระทรวงกิจการภายในยูเครนระบุว่ามีผู้ได้รับบาดเจ็บ 26 ราย ในจำนวนนี้ 6 รายมีอาการสาหัส รวมถึงนายบาตริน ขณะที่หน่วยสืบสวน ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านวัตถุระเบิด และเจ้าหน้าที่ในหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องกำลังสอบสวนโดยพุ่งเป้าเป็น “การก่อการร้าย”
นอกจากนี้ยังระบุด้วยว่าเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าวเกิดขึ้นในช่วงที่สภากำลังหารือเกี่ยวกับงบประมาณปี 2567 และมีสมาชิกบางคนคัดค้านงบประมาณบางส่วน
