ไฟฟ้าดับ “ทั่วประเทศ” – วันที่ 20 มิ.ย. บีบีซี รายงานความคืบหน้าสถานการณ์ ไฟฟ้าดับ ทั่ว ประเทศเอกวาดอร์ ตั้งแต่เวลาราว 15.00 น. ของวันพุธที่ 19 มิ.ย.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น ส่งผลกระทบต่อประชาชนราว 18 ล้านคน ขณะที่ระบบรถไฟฟ้าใต้ดินในกรุงกีโต เมืองหลวงของเอกาดอร์ ต้องระงับให้บริการเป็นการชั่วคราว
นายโรเบอร์โต ลูเก รัฐมนตรีกระทรวงโยธาธิการเอกวาดอร์ กล่าวว่ามีสาเหตุมาจากสายส่งไฟฟ้า โดยเจ้าหน้าที่เร่งแก้ไขปัญหาอย่างเต็มที่และราว 3 ชั่วโมงต่อมาก็สามารถฟื้นคืนระบบไฟฟ้าได้กว่าร้อยละ 95
ทั้งนี้ เมื่อเดือนเม.ย.ที่ผ่านมาเอกวาดอร์เผชิญหน้ากับภาวะภัยแล้งรุนแรงและทำให้รัฐบาลต้องประกาศใช้แผนดับไฟฟ้าในเมืองใหญ่หลายครั้ง เนื่องจากพลังงานไฟฟ้าส่วนมากที่ใช้ในเอกวาดอร์มาจากประเทศเพื่อนบ้านอย่างโคลอมเบีย
