โดยจำนวนผู้ประสบภัยที่ต้องอพยพล่าสุดนั้นมากกว่าตัวเลขชาวบ้านที่อพยพ 118,000 คนในเหตุอุทกภัยใหญ่ที่สุดครั้งหนึ่งของมาเลเซียเมื่อปี 2557
ขณะเดียวกันเจ้าหน้าที่บรรเทาสาธารณภัยระบุด้วยว่า ยอดผู้เสียชีวิตเพิ่มเป็นอย่างน้อย 4 รายในรัฐกลันตัน รัฐตรังกานู และรัฐซาราวัก แต่เกรงว่าอาจเพิ่มขึ้นเพราะฝนยังตกกระหน่ำไม่หยุด
