ประธานาธิบดีเฟอร์ดินานด์ มาร์กอส จูเนียร์ ผู้นำฟิลิปปินส์ กล่าวว่ารัฐบาลพร้อมให้ความช่วยเหลือผู้ได้รับผลกระทบราว 87,000 คน โดยนายเร็กซ์ กัตชาเลียน รัฐมนตรีกระทรวงสวัสดิการสังคมและการพัฒนา เดินทางไปยังเกาะเนโกรสเพื่อดูแลปฏิบัติการเยียวยาประชาชน

ฟิลิปปินส์พร้อมรับมือ – The government is ready to assist families affected by the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon in Negros Island, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said Tuesday. In a media interview, Marcos said Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian is in Negros to oversee the relief operations. He added that the Department of Budget and Management has given its assurance that the government still has enough funds to respond to this latest calamity. AFP
