ไต้หวันลั่นอธิปไตยทางทะเล – วันที่ 11 มิ.ย. รอยเตอร์ รายงานว่า หน่วยยามฝั่งไต้หวันกล่าวหลังจากจีนยุติการลาดตระเวนบริเวณชายฝั่งภาคตะวันออกของเกาะว่า อธิปไตยทางทะเลของไต้หวันไม่สามารถถูกละเมิดได้

เมื่อใดก็ตามที่เรือจีนปรากฏขึ้นเรือของไต้หวันจะขับไล่เรือเหล่านั้นอย่างเด็ดขาด พร้อมทั้งรักษาเสรีภาพและความปลอดภัยในการเดินเรือ “อธิปไตยทางทะเลของเราไม่สามารถถูกละเมิดได้ ประเทศใดก็ตามที่อ้างอำนาจจะถูกขับไล่ออกไปโดยไม่มีข้อยกเว้น”
สื่อรัฐบาลจีนรายงานว่าเรือถูกส่งไปปฏิบัติการบังคับใช้กฎหมายจราจรพิเศษทางทะเล โดยเมื่อวันที่ 10 มิ.ย. ได้ดำเนินการตรวจสอบการเดินเรือในน่านน้ำทางตะวันออกของไต้หวันเพื่อตอบสนองต่อการประกาศของญี่ปุ่นและฟิลิปปินส์

การลาดตระเวนของจีนสิ้นสุดลงหลังตรวจสอบเรือที่แล่นผ่าน 198 ลำ และแก้ไขการละเมิดที่เกี่ยวข้องกับเรือ 3 ลำ รวมถึงดำเนินการสำรวจทางอุทกศาสตร์และลาดตระเวนในพื้นที่ที่มีสายเคเบิลใต้น้ำติดตั้งอยู่
ทั้งนี้ จีนไม่ยอมรับอธิปไตยใดๆ ที่ไต้หวันอ้าง ขณะที่รัฐบาลไต้หวันกล่าวว่ามีเพียงประชาชนไต้หวันเท่านั้นที่สามารถตัดสินอนาคตของตนได้ ด้าน ประธานาธิบดีไล่ ชิงเต๋อ ผู้นำไต้หวัน เสนอการเจรจากับจีนหลายครั้งแต่ทางการจีนปฏิเสธและมองว่านายไล่เป็น “ผู้แบ่งแยกดินแดน”
