โควิด: หมอฝรั่งเศสเผยพบผู้ติดเชื้อ – วันที่ 5 พ.ค. เดลีเมล์ รายงานว่า นพ.อีฟ โคเฮน หัวหน้าทีมแพทย์กู้ชีพของโรงพยาบาลหลายแห่งในแคว้นอีล-เดอ-ฟร็องซ์ ในกรุงปารีส ประเทศฝรั่งเศส เปิดเผยกับสถานีโทรทัศน์แบแอฟแอมทีวีว่า
ผู้ป่วยโรคโควิด-19 คนแรกของประเทศจริงๆ แล้วเป็นชายที่เข้ารับการรักษาอาการป่วยด้วยโรคปอดบวมเมื่อเดือนธ.ค.2562 เกือบ 1 เดือนก่อนที่ทางการฝรั่งเศสจะระบุว่านักท่องเที่ยวชาวจีนเป็นผู้ติดเชื้อโควิด-19 คนแรกในประเทศ เมื่อวันที่ 24 ม.ค.2563
นพ.โคเฮนระบุว่าทีมแพทย์ของตนทำการตรวจสอบตัวอย่างตัวอย่างเชื้อของผู้ป่วย 24 คนที่มีอาการของโรคปอดบวม เป็นไข้ และแอดมิตเข้าโรงพยาบาลเมื่อวันที่ 27 ธ.ค.2562
ก่อนพบว่าหนึ่งในตัวอย่างมีผลลัพธ์ตรวจหาเชื้อโควิด-19 เป็นบวก ซึ่งทีมแพทย์ได้ทำการตรวจสอบซ้ำอีกครั้งและตัวอย่างเดิมยังปรากฏผลบวก ตอนนี้ชายคนดังกล่าวแข็งแรงดี และประหลาดใจอย่างมาก รวมทั้งไม่เข้าใจว่ารับเชื้อโควิด-19 มาได้อย่างไร

จากการค้นพบนี้ นพ.โคเฮนเรียกร้องให้หน่วยงานรัฐบาลในแคว้นอีล-เดอ-ฟร็อซ์เร่งตรวจสอบตัวอย่างเชื้อของผู้ป่วยที่เข้ารับการรักษาด้วยอาการคล้ายคลึงกับโรคโควิด-19 ในช่วงเดือนธ.ค.2562 จนถึงต้นเดือนม.ค.2563 เพราะอาจมีผู้ติดเชื้ออีกหลายคนที่ในขณะนั้นยังไม่สาเหตุว่าป่วยด้วยโรคอะไร
ทั้งนี้ เวิลด์โอมิเตอร์สระบุว่ายอดผู้ป่วยในฝรั่งเศสเมื่อวันที่ 4 พ.ค. เพิ่มขึ้นอีก 769 คน รวมแล้วมีผู้ติดเชื้อสะสม 169,462 คน ในจำนวนนี้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 25,201 คน เป็นผู้เสียชีวิตรายใหม่ 396 คน
