โควิด: เจ้าชายเบลเยียมโร่ “ขอโทษ” – บีบีซี รายงานวันที่ 1 มิ.ย. ว่า เจ้าชายโจอาคิม อาร์ชดยุกแห่งออสเตรีย-เอสเต พระชันษา 28 ปี พระนัดดาใน สมเด็จพระราชาธิบดีฟีลิปแห่งเบลเยียม และรัชทายาทลำดับ 10 ของราชวงศ์เบลเยียม ทรงออกแถลงการณ์แสดงความเสียพระทัยต่อกรณีที่พระองค์ละเมิดมาตรการล็อกดาวน์ และเสด็จไปร่วมงานเลี้ยงสังสรรค์ที่สเปนเมื่อปลายเดือนพ.ค.ที่ผ่านมา จนเป็นเหตุให้พระองค์ประชวรด้วย โรคโควิด-19
“ข้าพเจ้ารู้สึกเสียใจต่อการกระทำของตัวข้าพเจ้าเอง ข้าพเจ้าขอโทษที่ไม่เคารพต่อกฎการกักตัวในช่วงการเดินทาง และในช่วงเวลาแห่งความยากลำบากเช่นนี้ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้ต้องการสร้างความขุ่นเคืองใจให้กับใคร” เจ้าชายโจอาคิมตรัส และว่าพระองค์พร้อมรับผิดชอบกับสิ่งที่จะตามมา
ขณะเดียวกันตำรวจสเปนแถลงว่ากำลังเร่งสอบสวนกรณีดังกล่าว ซึ่งผู้ฝ่าฝืนมีโทษปรับสูงสุด 10,000 ยูโร หรือราว 353,000 บาท
