ลอสแองเจลิสอ่วม “ไฟร์นาโด” – วันที่ 14 ส.ค. บีบีซี รายงานความคืบหน้าเหตุ ไฟป่า “เลคไฟร์” ทางตอนเหนือของ นครลอสแองเจลิส รัฐแคลิฟอร์เนีย สหรัฐอเมริกา หลังไฟปะทุขึ้นในพื้นที่ป่าแห่งชาติแองเจลิส ใกล้ถนนฟรีเวย์สาย 5 เมื่อช่วงบ่ายวันพุธที่ 12 ส.ค.
หลังจากผ่านไปเพียง 1 วัน ไฟป่าก็ทวีความรุนแรงเป็น “ไฟร์นาโด” หรือทอร์นาโดไฟและไฟปีศาจ หนึ่งในปรากฏการณ์ธรรมชาติที่เกิดขึ้นได้ยาก ทั้งยังทำให้เปลวไฟลุกลามเผาวอดพื้นที่ป่าเป็นบริเวณกว้างกว่า 26,557 ไร่ อาคารบ้านเรือนไหม้เสียหายมากกว่า 5,000 หลัง
นายโรเบิร์ต การ์เซีย ผู้อำนวยการหน่วยดับเพลิงป่าแห่งชาติแองเจลิส กล่าวว่าสถานการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นทำให้เห็นถึงความน่ากลัวของไฟป่าที่รุนแรงและอันตราย เมื่อไฟร้อนมากๆ จนถึงจุดหนึ่งก็จะเกิดการหมุนวนของกระแสอากาศร้อน และหากลอยขึ้นไปเจอกับเมฆฝนไพโรคิวมูโลนิมบัส จะก่อให้เกิดฟ้าผ่ารุนแรงและอาจทำให้มีไฟป่าเพิ่มขึ้นได้

The brush fire north of Los Angeles is not contained. At least 100 structures were evacuated. Conditions created recipe for “rapid fire growth”, said fire chief Robert Garcia. BBC
