ภูเขาไฟไอซ์แลนด์ “พ่นลาวา” ในรอบ 800 ปี เกิดต่อเนื่องหลังดินไหวกว่า 4 หมื่นครั้ง!
ภูเขาไฟไอซ์แลนด์ “พ่นลาวา” – การ์เดียน รายงานวันที่ 20 มี.ค. ว่า สำนักงานอุตุนิยมวิทยาไอซ์แลนด์แถลงว่าเมื่อเวลา 20.45 น. ของวันศุกร์ที่ 19 มี.ค.ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น ภูเขาไฟฟากราดัลส์ฟยาล บนคาบสมุทรเรคยาเนส ห่างจากกรุงเรคยาวิกไปทางตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ราว 30 กิโลเมตร เกิดปะทุพ่นลาวาร้อนระอุไหลออกมาตามรอยแยกความยาวราว 500-700 เมตร
การปะทุครั้งแรกภูเขาไฟฟากราดัลส์ฟยาลในรอบกว่า 800 ปี เกิดขึ้นหลังพบแรงสั่นสะเทือนขนาด 3.1 แม็กนิจูด ราว 1.2 กิโลเมตรจากจากภูเขาไฟดังกล่าวไม่กี่ชั่วโมงก่อนหน้านี้ และเกิดขึ้นในช่วงที่ไอซ์แลนด์เผชิญกับแผ่นดินไหวมากกว่า 40,000 ครั้งตลอด 3 สัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา
เบื้องต้นหน่วยงานยามชายฝั่งนำเฮลิคอปเตอร์ขึ้นบินลาดตระเวนพื้นที่โดยรอบ และคาดว่าจะไม่พ่นเถ้าถ่านปกคลุมไปทั่วยุโรปเหมือนเมื่อครั้งที่ภูเขาไฟเอยาฟยาตลาเยอคุตล์เกิดปะทุในปี 2553
