ซีเรียแห่เลือกตั้ง! คาด “อัสซาด” ชนะสมัยที่ 4 หลังครองเก้าอี้ประธานาธิบดีนาน 21 ปี
ซีเรียแห่เลือกตั้ง! – เมื่อ 26 พ.ค. เอเอฟพี รายงานบรรยากาศใน ประเทศซีเรีย หลังจากประชาชนจำนวนมากทยอยเดินทางไปใช้สิทธิออกเสียงในศึกเลือกตั้งประธานาธิบดี ท่ามกลางการคาดการณ์ของหลายฝ่ายที่ระบุว่า นายบาชาร์ อัล-อัสซาด ผู้นำวัย 55 ปี จะคว้าชัยชนะเหนือคู่แข่งที่ลงสมัครชิงตำแหน่ง 2 คน
ได้แก่ นายอับดัลเลาะห์ ซัลโลอุม อดีตรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ กับ นายมาห์มูด เมอร์ฮี หัวหน้าแกนนำฝ่ายค้าน และได้ครองเก้าอี้ประธานาธิบดีสมัยที่ 4 ภายหลังดำรงตำแหน่งมานานเกือบ 21 ปี ตั้งแต่ปี 2543
การเลือกตั้งครั้งนี้เป็นครั้งที่สองในช่วง 10 ปีที่สงครามกลางเมืองยังคงยื้อเยื้อ กับยอดผู้เสียชีวิตราว 4-6 แสนราย มากกว่า 7.6 ล้านคนพลัดถิ่นในประเทศ และราว 5.1 ล้านคนต้องลี้ภัยในต่างแดน
