จีนระอุ! – วันที่ 6 ก.ย. เอเอฟพี รายงานว่า องค์การอุตุนิยมวิทยาแห่งชาติจีนแถลงว่า เดือนสิงหาคมที่ผ่านมาขึ้นแท่นเป็นเดือนสิงหาคมที่มี อุณหภูมิสูงสุด ในรอบ 63 ปี นับตั้งแต่เริ่มทำการบันทึกข้อมูลเมื่อปี 2504 หลังเผชิญกับสภาพอากาศเลวร้ายและคลื่นความร้อนรุนแรงในช่วงฤดูร้อน โดยเฉพาะภาคเหนือและภาคตะวันตก

แถลงการณ์บางส่วนระบุว่าจีนประสบกับอุณหภูมิที่สูงและยาวนานขึ้นในเดือนสิงหาคมกับอุณหภูมิเฉลี่ยทั่วประเทศที่ 22.6 องศาเซลเซียส สูงกว่าช่วงเวลาเดียวกันในปีที่มีอุณหภูมิปกติราว 1.5 องศาเซลเซียส นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าสถานีอุตุนิยมวิทยา 19 แห่งบันทึกอุณหภูมิสูงสุดประจำวันที่เท่ากันหรือสูงทุบสถิติด้วย
สำหรับมณฑลและเมืองต่างๆ ที่มีอุณหภูมิในเดือนสิงหาคมสูงสุดเป็นประวัติการณ์ รวมถึงนครเซี่ยงไฮ้ มณฑลเจียงซู มณฑลเหอเป่ย มณฑลไห่หนาน มณฑลจี๋หลิน มณฑลเหลียวหนิง มณฑลชานตง และทางตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือของเขตปกครองตนเองซินเจียงอุยกูร์
