ยูเนสโกขึ้นทะเบียน – ซินหัว รายงานว่า ฝ่ายประชาสัมพันธ์ประจำสภาบริหารแห่งรัฐของเมียนมาเปิดเผยว่าองค์การเพื่อการศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ และวัฒนธรรมแห่งสหประชาชาติ (ยูเนสโก) ขึ้นทะเบียน “เทศกาลสาดน้ำติงจัน” (Thingyan festival) ซึ่งเป็นเทศกาลปีใหม่ตามประเพณีของเมียนมาอยู่ในรายการตัวแทนมรดกวัฒนธรรมที่จับต้องไม่ได้ของมนุษยชาติ
มติดังกล่าวมีขึ้นระหว่างการประชุมคณะกรรมการระหว่างรัฐบาลด้านการคุ้มครองมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมที่จับต้องไม่ได้ สมัยที่ 19 ซึ่งจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 2-7 ธ.ค. ในปารากวัย

เมียนมาส่งเอกสารเสนอชื่อเทศกาลติงจันแก่องค์การยูเนสโกเมื่อวันที่ 24 มี.ค.2566 โดยการขึ้นทะเบียนเทศกาลนี้เป็นผลจากความพยายามร่วมกันของสมาคมวรรณกรรมกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์และวัฒนธรรมจากหลายรัฐและภูมิภาคซึ่งรวมถึงสมาคมอนุรักษ์มรดกทางวัฒนธรรมของเมียนมา องค์การภาคประชาสังคม และการมีส่วนร่วมอย่างแข็งขันของประชาชน
รายงานระบุว่าการรวมเทศกาลสาดน้ำติงจันเข้าในรายการตัวแทนขององค์การยูเนสโก นำมาซึ่งประโยชน์หลายประการ อาทิ เพิ่มการรับรู้ระดับโลก รับรองการอนุรักษ์และส่งต่อมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมนี้ให้กับคนรุ่นต่อไป
รวมถึงส่งเสริมให้ประชาชนเห็นคุณค่าการเฉลิมฉลองเทศกาลนี้ในรูปแบบดั้งเดิม และมอบประสบการณ์อันมีค่าแก่เมียนมาในการส่งองค์ประกอบทางวัฒนธรรมอื่นๆ เพื่อขอขึ้นทะเบียนในลักษณะเดียวกัน

ยูเนสโกขึ้นทะเบียน – Locals pay homage at Shwe Dagon Pagoda in Myanmar New Year Day. The inclusion of Thingyan in UNESCO’s Representative List brings several benefits, such as enhancing global recognition of the festival, ensuring the preservation and passing down of this cultural heritage to future generations, fostering public appreciation for celebrating Thingyan in its traditional form, and providing Myanmar with valuable experience to submit other cultural elements for similar inscription, it said. © Ministry of Information, Myanmar
